We were tasked by Derby City Council, The Cathedral Quarter and St Peters Quarter to come up with a new video and photography to sell the City of Derby. With the city just out of lockdown, people were still weary of going out, and asking what was on offer in the city, and what safety measures had been implemented. We were given a short brief from the team only a few days before filming, and only 4 days to film and edit the video for a launch at the end of the working week. The film had to show all the things we know and love about the city, but also dropping in hints of safety measures in place. We took the lead in creating a shot list, storyboard and filming schedules to make sure we may use of our short time round the city, luckily the weather was on our side!
We were very selective on what activities we wanted to film in the city, looking at leisure, food and nightlife. We staged our very own family members in some scenes, and used dramatic drone footage to show the City of Derby in its best light.
The team at AV IT really understood what all parties were wanting to achieve from this project. We wanted to reopen the city through a vibrant feel good video, will subliminal safety messages placed throughout, and this is exactly what we got and more.
